Philharmonic partners with Mill Race Theatre for Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ in 2025

The Mill Race Theatre Company will collaborate with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic for a production of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” in July 2025.

The CIP will perform as the pit orchestra for the production, which will run from July 18th-20th in 2025 at the Judson S. Erne Auditorium at Columbus North High School. Individual show tickets will go on sale in the spring of 2025. MRTC 2024-25 season tickets are now available for purchase at www.millracetheatre.org.

“This unique project offers us a fantastic opportunity to bring this beloved story to life with our music, and we are looking forward to this wonderful partnership,” said CIP Music Director Issac Selya in the press release from Mill Race Theatre Company.

The press release described Roald Dahl’s “Charlie & the Chocolate Factory” as a musical story of Charlie Bucket’s trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. The production includes songs from the film, as well as a new age spin with characters having modern experiences. The show, based on the Roald Dahl novel, is family friendly.

“We are so honored to be able to partner with our friends at the Phil for our pit orchestra, and you’re going to want your very own Golden Ticket to see what we can do together,” said MRTC Board President Sharon Andrews in the press release.
