Brown County Art Walk Friday

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. HOOSIER ARTIST GALLERY, 45 S. Jefferson St., Nashville. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The art of Beth Parrock, Lory Winford, and Marci Wease is featured in July. Parrock creates jewelry out of beads, precious metal clay in silver, bronze, and brass, and wire. Her fused glass pieces include jewelry, candleholders and nightlights, framed plaques and suncatchers inspired by nature around her Brown County home. Winford paints colorful landscapes and florals, capturing light with her pastels. She is influenced by the impressionist painters’ interpretations of light and texture. Wease is a self-taught welder/plasma cutter specializing in working with “junk” no one else wants. She rescues unwanted and unloved pieces of metal and machinery to create sculptures, plasma cut metal items and inventive altered use creations.
