2014

Columbus native Tony Stewart signed autographs and held a question-and-answer session after practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 21st Brickyard 400. The session lasted for 40 minutes and Stewart signed about 150 autographs.

1999

A group of biologists from the Department of Natural Resources captured, tagged and released 24 lake sturgeon, Indiana’s rarest species of fish, in East Fork White River. The biologists were studying the sturgeon’s population size, location and reproduction.

1974

Stock car racing by Dan Fleenor International Auto Daredevils of Tampa, Fla., was the highlight of the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair. The show took place in the grandstand and attracted a crowd large enough to fill most of the seats.
