Hope resident’s nephew wins gold medal

PARIS — The nephew of a Hope resident has won a gold medal.

Hunter Armstrong was a member of the United States’ winning 4,100-meter freestle relay team on Saturday in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. The Dover, Ohio, native and former Ohio State swimmer is the nephew of Polly Trotter of Hope.

Armstrong swam a 46.7-second third leg of the relay to help the Americans increase their lead. Caeleb Dressel finished it off for the US the win in 3:09.28.
