Two pedestrians hospitalized after accident on Jonathon Moore Pike Saturday

Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle on Jonathan Moore Pike east of Two Mile House road at about 9:27 p.m. Saturday.

Columbus police said two women, identified as being ages 41 and 68, were injured when they were hit by a an 18-year-old male driving a 2011 Nissan Altima east on Jonathan Moore Pike.

The older pedestrian was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for leg and hip injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. The other pedestrian was taken by Lifeline Helicopter to an Indianapolis trauma center.

The driver didn’t report any injuries and was cooperative with theinvestigation.

CPD’s Crash Reconstruction Team was called to the scene, which caused a partial roadway closure for about two hours.

Columbus Police Department spokesman Skylar Berry said the investigation is continuing into the accident.
