The fellows in Three Beards Strumming clearly can grow facial hair. Jason Eckart believes the Columbus-based musical trio will help grow the crowd at the next monthly Cruise In to Hope from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the historic Hope Town Square on Main Street.

The trio has built a following through events in recent years such as the Hogstock fundraiser at Hog Molly Brewing Company in Columbus.

“We’re excited to be having them back at the cruise-in,” said Jason Eckart, the event organizer and chairman of the Cruise In to Hope Committee. “They really do have a great style.”

All while playing classic pop-rock, and sometimes with a wry humor by throwing in a tune that most audiences hardly would expect. In 2021 at Hogstock, they worked in the Black Sabbath tune “War Pigs.”

Last month, at a patriotic cruise-in, more than 200 people attended though an early rain drenched the square.

“Once the weather turned nice, we had about 30 more cars show up,” Eckart said. “It was an awesome event.”

Columbus’ Elwood Staffing provides support to make the event possible.

An ample variety of food will be available, including area Scouts preparing sirloin sandwiches, Hope Volunteer Fire Department members serving burgers, plus others selling everything from tenderloins to baked goods.

The free, outdoor event raises money for a range of nonprofit causes through vehicle registration fees. Motorists cruise in to the square in classic and not-so-classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. This month, that money will benefit the Community Center of Hope food bank.
