Cheryl K. Faulkner, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital at the age of 74.

Mrs. Faulkner was born in Scottsburg, Indiana, November 8, 1949, the loving daughter of John R. and Dorothy L. Heacock Charlton. She was the wife of Charles Edward Faulkner, to whom she was faithfully married to for 28 years from July 25, 1980, until his death March 29, 2009.

Mrs. Faulkner worked as a laboratory technician at a Central Pharmaceutical Company in Seymour and was later employed with Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis. She was a longtime volunteer for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and she was involved in the Foster Grandparent Program. She enjoyed membership in the Seymour American Legion Auxiliary. Cheryl loved children and animals, which was really evident by the joy she exhibited when she was around them.

Survivors include her brothers, John G. Charlton of Seymour and Darryl K. (Bonnie) Charlton of Seymour and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Faulkner was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Charlton; her husband, Charles Edward Faulkner; and a nephew, James Charlton.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Marg Millman and Valerie Smith will officiate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Faulkner will be laid to rest next to her husband at Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Austin, Indiana immediately following the funeral service. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Faulkner may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
