Nominations open for ‘Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana’ contest

Registration is now open for the Indiana Chamber’s fourth annual Coolest Thing Made IN Indiana competition. This year, the chamber is partnering with the Indiana Destination Development Corp.

“We’re truly excited to put a brighter spotlight on this popular and fun contest but also the makers that are so important to Indiana’s economy. The fact that such a variety of great companies are flourishing here demonstrates how fertile Indiana is for growing a business,” said Indiana Chamber president and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders, in a press release from the Indiana Chamber. Incorporating the IDDC is intended to increase the audience that the contest reaches, and promote the businesses on a wider scale. The IDDC is going to use social media and other platforms to promote the competition, and will also feature the eight quarterfinalists in the bracket style tournament in videos about their company and products.

Interested Indiana manufacturing companies can enter at www.indianachamber.com/coolest. It’s free to enter, and the deadline is Oct. 18.

Previous winners have included Hoosier Racing Tire, Janus Motorcycles of Goshen, and Maple Leaf Farms of Leesburg. To be eligible, the product entered must be made in Indiana, and a company can only enter one product. Company headquarters can be outside of the state.

The bracket is single elimination and votes are cast online. The contest will begin in late October, and end in November.

Participants will receive a digital badge, which they can share to their website and social media to show that they are participating. The winner will be the subject of a feature article in the Indiana Chamber’s magazine, BizVoice. Top awards will be presented on Dec. 11, at the 2024 Best IN Manufacturing Awards.
