Swimmers compete in Divisional Championships

Club Olympia had 33 swimmers compete in the Indiana Swimming SE Divisional Championships at Center Grove High School.

Thirty swimmers from Club Olympia Win 33 Gold Medals at the Indiana Swimming SE Divisional Championships at Center Grove High School.

Shreyan Kulkarni led the way for Club Olympia with four individual victories in the 12-and-under 50-meter backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle, as well as the 14U 1,650 freestyle. Kulkarni also placed third in the 12U 50 butterfly and 12th in the 14U 200 breaststroke.

Club Olympia’s Vivan Shah, Vihaan Gallege, Arash Thokade and Max Tempest combined to win the 10U Boys 200-meter freestyle and 200 medley relay events in the Indiana Swimming SE Divisional Championships.

Vivan Shah (10) claimed three individual victories in the 10U 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 100 breaststroke. He was also the top 10U swimmer in the 12U 500 freestyle, where he placed 11th.

Arjun Agarkar won two individual titles in the 12U 50 butterfly and 100 freestyle. Agarkar also took fourth in the 50 backstroke and fifth in the 500 freestyle.

Rebeca Mejia Murguia also won two individual events in the 12U 50 butterfly and 50 freestyle. Mejia Murguia also finished in second in the 50 backstroke, third in the 100 freestyle, fifth in the 200 IM and ninth in the 100 Backstroke.

Club Olympia’s Lexi Miller, Lily Pendleton, Grey Bateman and Rebeca Mejia Murguia won the 11-12 Girls 200-meter medley relay in the Indiana Swimming SE Divisional Championships.

Lexi Miller won the 12U 50 backstroke and was the top 13U swimmer in the 14U 1,650 freestyle, where she placed third. Miller also placed second in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 50 butterfly and 200 IM.

Arash Thokade won the 10U 100 butterfly. He was also second in the 50 backstroke 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley, third in the 50 butterfly, and ninth in the 50 freestyle.

Vivan Shah, Vihaan Gallege, Arash Thokade and Max Tempest combined to win both the 10U 200 freestyle and 200 medley relay events.

Lexi Miller, Lily Pendleton, Grey Bateman and Rebeca Mejia Murguia won the 11-12 200 medley relay. Their teammates, Cali Gray, Camila Mejia Murguia, Vibha Nagiligari and Gargi Gupta finished in fifth to also receive medals. In the 200 freestyle relay, Gargi Gupta, Lily Pendleton, Kay Payne and Rebeca Mejia Murguia finished in third place. Their teammates, Grey Bateman, Cali Gray, Vibha Nagiligari and Camila Mejia Murguia, finished fifth.

Bella Zhang, Eva Rayomand, Myra Jaryal and Neeti Gujarathi placed third in the 10U 200 medley relay and eighth in the 200 freestyle relay.

Myra Jaryal placed second in the 10U 50 butterfly, third in the 100 freestyle, fourth in both the 50 backstroke and 100 backstroke, fifth in the 50 breaststroke, and 12th in the 200 IM.

Eva Rayomand got on the podium in three events by placing fourth in the 10U 50 butterfly, fifth in the 100 butterfly and eighth in the 100 freestyle. She also finished in 11th in the 100 breaststroke, 15th in the 200 IM and 16th in the 50 breaststroke.

Bella Zhang received an eighth-place medal in the 10U 50 breaststroke. She also placed 12th in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke, 18th in the 200 IM, 20th in the 50 backstroke and 29th in the 50 freestyle.

Neeti Gujarathi placed 18th in both the 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke.

In addition to winning two gold medals on relays, Max Tempest received a bronze medal for finishing third in the 10U 200 IM. He also placed seventh in the 100 freestyle, 10th in the 100 backstroke, 11th in the 200 freestyle and 13th in the 50 freestyle.

Grey Bateman made the finals and finished in 15th in the 12U 200 freestyle. She also was 17th in the 200 IM, 33rd in the 100 freestyle and 36th in the 50 freestyle.

Cali Gray placed 21st in the 12U 200 IM, 24th in the 50 butterfly, 31st in the 50 freestyle, 32nd in the 200 freestyle, 35th in the 100 freestyle and 36th in the 50 backstroke.

Aahan Gupta finished in fifth in the 12U 200 IM, sixth in the 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly, seventh in the 100 butterfly, eighth in the 200 freestyle and 11th in the 100 freestyle.

Gargi Gupta finished 58th in the 12U 50 freestyle.

Adir Joshi placed sixth in the 12U 50 freestyle and eighth in the 50 backstroke, 50 butterfly and 100 freestyle, as well as fourth in the 14U 1,650 freestyle.

Nandini Kondhare placed 34th in the 14U 200 backstroke, 54th in the 200 freestyle, 60th in the 100 freestyle and 67th in the 50 freestyle.

Sanaa Kulkarni took ninth in the Open 400 IM, 15th in the 200 breaststroke, 20th in the 200 freestyle, 21st in the 100 breaststroke 23rd in the 100 butterfly and 35th in the 200 IM.

Shourya Malviya placed fourth in the 12U 50 butterfly, sixth in the 100 butterfly, 16th in the 100 backstroke, 18th in the 50 freestyle, 24th in the 50 backstroke and 28th in the 100 freestyle.

Camila Mejia Murguia swam the 14U 200 backstroke, in addition to two relays, and finished in seventh place.

Vibha Nagiligari placed 56th in the 12U 50 freestyle.

Kay Payne finished fourth in the 12U 50 freestyle, seventh in the 200 IM, 11th in the 50 breaststroke and 23rd in the 50 backstroke.

Lily Pendleton placed fifth in the 12U 50 butterfly and 50 freestyle, seventh in the 100 freestyle, ninth in the 200 freestyle, 11th in the 100 backstroke and 18th in the 50 backstroke.

Joshua Pendleton qualified first in the 14U 200 backstroke and first in the Open 200 breaststroke, but did not compete in the Finals in either event.

Aashka Shah placed 13th in the 14U 200 breaststroke, 15th in the 100 butterfly 21st in the 100 breaststroke, 33rd in the 100 backstroke, 44th in the 50 freestyle and 57th in the 100 freestyle.

Daxton Wolf got on the podium three times in individual events by placing seventh in the 12U 100 breaststroke and 500 freestyle and eighth in the 100 backstroke. Wolf also placed 10th in the 50 backstroke and 27th in the 50 freestyle.

Xavier Zhang received medals in all six of his individual events, placing third in the 12U 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle and 200 IM, as well as fourth in the 100 freestyle and seventh in the 50 butterfly.

Local swimmers compete for FRST

Five swimmers from Columbus competed for Franklin Regional Swim Team at the Indiana Swimming SE Divisional Championships.

Deuce Callaway finished fourth in the 14U 400 IM and ninth in the 200 freestyle relay. Tristan Davis took fifth in the 10U 100 butterfly and 10th in the 100 freestyle. Elena Abney was 10th in the 10U 200 medley relay.

Santi Morgado and Abhi Voleti also competed for FRST.
