Parkside Elementary School students and teachers were busy tending to plants and harvesting vegetables in the school’s courtyard, an idea presented by parent Brigid Jarnigan. Teachers Candy Carr, Ann Ruble and Anita Grider maintained the grounds and turned the work into learning experiences for their students.

1999

Clifty Skate Park, also known as Jolie Crider Memorial Skate Park, opened for use after almost two years of planning and labor. A group of teens and adults who worked on the project tested the park before its opening to ensure its safety.

1974

Around 10,000 people attended the 28th annual V-J Day parade, which included a speech from Richard Roudebush, former Veterans of Foreign Wars national commander from Noblesville.
