Deputies arrest local man on charges of possession of child pornography and child solicitation

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies and Columbus police, working with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, have arrested a local man accused of possession of child pornography and child solicitation, both Level 5 felonies.

On Wednesday, Eric Dicken, 35, Columbus, was arrested on the two felonies after task force investigators were alerted to Dicken’s alleged involvement in illicit sexual content by the National Institute for Missing and Exploited Children.

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office and Columbus Police Department joined the ICAC Task Force, a national program focused on investigating exploited children in 2024. Since joining the program this is the second child exploitation arrest in Bartholomew County.

Dicken remains in custody at the Bartholomew County Jail on a 48-hour hold.
