2014

The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce held its first Venture Awards, which recognized entrepreneurs in three categories: Innovation, New and Emerging Business, and Entrepreneur of the Year. Cybermetrix received the Innovation Award, HK Auto/Truck Service won the Emerging Business Award, and Data Cave was the Entrepreneur of the Year.

1999

Pieces of the 1911 Reeves Octoauto, originally built by M.O. Reeves at Reeves Pulley Co. in Columbus, were being reassembled by Skip Nance of Alamo, Kentucky. Originally thought to have been destroyed, the pieces were found on an Illinois farm and purchased by Nance so he could restore them.

1974

Two Columbus girls, Dana Brouher and Jennifer Fairhead, placed first in their categories at the Indiana State Fair Horse and Pony Show. Brougher won the Adult Working Hunter Class and Fairhead won the Hunter Hack Class in the Pleasure Riding category.
