The 2024 Annual Meeting of the Greater Columbus Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Commons in downtown Columbus.

The annual luncheon attracts the area’s top business, civic and local government leaders to hear reports on the local EDC’s activities and efforts to support the economic development of Columbus, Edinburgh, and all Bartholomew County. The featured guest speaker will be Jim Bullard, inaugural dean of the Mitch Daniels, Jr., School of Business at Purdue University.

A noted economist and scholar, Bullard was previously the longest-serving Federal Reserve Bank president in the country while at the St. Louis Fed, during which time he was also named one of the most influential economists in the world by The Economist magazine.

“We are always grateful to welcome a great mix of our community’s movers and shakers to each year’s event,” said Jason Hester, Greater Columbus EDC president. “Our keynote presentation by Dr. Bullard will take the form of a conversational ‘fireside chat’ this year, so attendees can expect engaging, non-scripted observations about the state of our economy and what may be on the horizon.”

The luncheon event is open to the public, but advance ticket purchase is required by visiting www.ColumbusIN.org/AnnualMeeting. Individual tickets are $70 each, and reserved corporate tables of six are available for $420, while seats remain. Phone orders are not available.
