South Decatur sweeps Edinburgh

GREENSBURG — South Decatur remained unbeaten in the Mid-Hoosier Conferencewith a 25-13, 25-13, 25-15 volleyball win against Edinburgh on Thursday.

Makayla Somers recorded 25 assists and two blocks, and Elizabeth Bennett had 10 digs and three aces to lead the Cougars (6-1, 2-0). Taylor Somers and Aniston Bostic each pounded eight kills, and Zsophia Sharp had two blocks.

Also for South Decatur, Paige McQueen tallied seven kills, and Sharp added six kills, two assists, nine digs and two aces. Bennett, Taylor Somers, Bostic and McQueen all had one block; Makayla Somers and McQueen each added six digs and Bostic served two aces.

Kenna Streeval led the Lancers (0-6, 0-1) with six kills, 30 digs and one ace, while Kinzie Purvis had nine assists and four blocks.

Also for Edinburgh, Purvis tallied four kills and five digs, and Gracelyn Adcock recorded four kills and two blocks. Adalynn Ramey notched seven assists, and Elizabeth Hernandez added 28 digs.
