Bartholomew County History Center was one of just a few Midwest locations to offer MARS American Heritage Chocolate, which was created from a recipe used in the 1750s. The chocolate was sold at the History Center in Columbus and the Yellow Trail Museum in Hope.

Jane Ellen Boultinghouse of Carmel was named as Parkside Elementary School’s new principal. Boultinghouse was the state president of the Indiana Association of School Principals and was a state representative for the National Association of Elementary School Principals.

Mary Catherine Deppe of Columbus, a delegate for the Daughters of Isabella, Father Baron Circle, attended the biennial Daughters of Isabella National Convention at the Statler Hilton Hotel in Boston, Mass. Deppe was the state vice-regent of the Indiana unit of the organization.
