Gladennie “Dena” (Thomas) Henry, age 61 of Columbus, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, August 22, 2024 surrounded by loved ones.
Dena was born on November 13, 1962 in Hyden, KY to her mother, Evelyn Morgan. She was a 1979 graduate of Atherton High School in Burton, MI and went on to attend the University of Michigan – Flint. Dena retired in 2019 as a Paraprofessional in the Genesee School District for 17.6 years. Dena enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and shopping.
Dena is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Scott Henry, whom she married on February 15, 1991 in Fenton, MI. She is also survived by her daughters, Melissa (John) Sarnecki of Nashville and Megan Henry of Chicago, IL; parents Evelyn and Mac Smith of Morgantown; sisters Wanda (John) Sanders of Morgantown and Deloris (Greg) Carswell of Grand Blanc, MI; granddaughters, Saylor Dee and Sophie Lynn Sarnecki.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25th from 5 – 7 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. The Rev. Randy LaVere will conduct a funeral service on Monday, August 26th at 11 a.m. at This is That Full Gospel Church, 6881 N. State Road 135 in Brown County. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
