COLUMBUS
Myrtle M. Olmstead, 91, of Columbus, passed from this life at 11:11 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Olmstead was born December 26, 1932, in Brown County, the daughter of Roscoe R. and Amy Opal Lucas Miller.
She married Floyd D. Olmstead July 26, 1957; he preceded her in death October 1, 2014.
She retired from Quality Mill Supply after 25 years of service.
She enjoyed her time at the Mill Race Center, puzzles, fishing and watching the game show network.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Diane) Olmstead of Columbus and Amy (Victor) Young of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Spencer Olmstead, Katie (Kevin) Welz and Samantha (Jonathan) Schneider; and her sisters, Martha (Joe) Monroe of Muncie and Georgia Reeves of Brown County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a brother, David Hardin; and sisters, Betty Cox, Katheryn Crossland, Phyllis Petro and Shirley Miller.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Jim Hudson officiating.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. to time of service.
She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Greenlawn Cemetery in Brown County.
