COLUMBUS
Stephen Lea Kelso, 72, of Columbus, passed from this life at 4:16 a.m. Sunday, August 18, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Kelso was born December 6, 1951, in Maryville, Tennessee, the son of Ernest and Jama Robinson Kelso.
He married Doneta J. Perry August 14, 1976.
He retired from Dorel in 2001 after 27 years of service.
He was an avid race fan, he enjoyed collecting NASCAR and dirt racing memorabilia and working on old cars.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years; children, Bradley (Kristy) Kelso, Brandon (Jenni) Kelso and Brittany (Brian) King all of Columbus; grandchildren, Jordan (Casey) Kelso, Jakob Kelso, Chloe Jackson, Kayleigh Kelso and Kinzey King; great-grandchildren, LeeLand Kelso, Waylon Kelso and arriving soon, Weston; a sister, Farrial (Dennis) Williams of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with Mr. Kelso’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Heflin Park, 4323 W. 700 N., Edinburgh, IN 46124.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Kelso fund at any Centra Credit Union.
