Heritage Fund planning ‘Love Where You Live’ community event

Heritage Fund – The Community Foundation of Bartholomew County is inviting the community to an all-ages “Love Where You Live” event Oct. 5.

The event will feature free activities in celebration of the community foundation’s commitment to building a better community and an opportunity for the public to learn about the impact of its work and how their support can make a difference.

Activities and demonstrations are planned throughout downtown beginning at 2 p.m.

Special events include a Concert on the Library Plaza featuring Miss Americanas, A Taylor Swift Tribute Band at 4 p.m. and the return of the Rock The Block Dance Party beginning at 6:30 p.m. under InterOculus at Washington and Fourth streets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the day, including a signature LWYL brew from Hog Molly.

Limited edition LWYL merchandise featuring this year’s design by local artist Annie Shields will be available with a donation to the LWYL Campaign.

The day’s schedule also includes:

• Youth activities

• Food trucks

• Community table and auction of picnic tables with local artwork

• Artist demonstrations

• Live Mural Creation of LWYL design by Annie Shields

“We are looking forward to celebrating Love Where You Live in downtown Columbus,” said Kristin Munn, Heritage Fund’s vice president of operations and development. “We hope members of the community will join us for music, dancing and lots of fun.”

The inaugural LWYL event coincides with the sixth annual LWYL Campaign in support of Heritage Fund’s Community Fund. These unrestricted dollars facilitate targeted grantmaking for projects and programs in Heritage Fund’s Impact Areas of Arts, Culture, and Architecture; Youth Development; and Downtown Vitality. Heritage Fund annually awards more than $800,000 in grants from the Community Fund to local nonprofits.

“In addition to celebrating with us, we hope friends will learn more about the work we do at Heritage Fund and be inspired to support this year’s campaign,” Munn said.
