It’s rivalry week in Columbus

This week is rivalry week for the Columbus North and Columbus East fall sports teams with six of the eight head-to-head contests taking place this week.

It all begins Tuesday when the Olympians host the Bull Dogs at 4:15 p.m. in boys tennis. That will followed by the boys and girls cross-country races at 5:30 p.m. at Ceraland.

Soccer takes its turn on Wednesday and Thursday. North will host East in girls soccer at around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. The Olympians will host Bull Dogs in boys soccer at around 7:45 p.m. Thursday. Both games will be played at the BCSC Soccer Complex.

Football will wrap up the week as North hosts East at 7 p.m. Friday. The Bull Dogs won big over Decatur Central 41-15 Friday, while the Olympians will look for its first win of the season after falling to Bloomington South 27-6.

The volleyball and girls golf matches will take place at a later date. The girls golf match is scheduled for Sept. 17 at Harrison Lake Country Club, and the volleyball match is scheduled for Oct. 3 at North.

All East and North students will have free admission to only its respective home athletic events this week and for all of the 2024-25 school year with their student ID.
