You could say that attendees tipped their caps to the Columbus Area Arts Council Saturday at the nonprofit’s Uncommon Cause annual fundraiser Saturday at Harrison Lake Country Club.

The theme was “Hats Off to the Arts,” and plenty in the crowd topped off outfits in style.

The event featured a silent and live auction — and also one called Fund a Need to support Studio C, a community art studio open to any artist to use at the Columbus Propeller Inc. MakerSpace, 4760 Ray Boll Boulevard.

The arts council is known for everything from its hands-on arts workshops to its popular, long-running First Fridays for Families series for youngsters.

Besides music from the group Milligan, the gathering also included food, a live auction of high-profile packages such as trips, a silent art auction, a pop-up shop, and a closing-night push called Fund a Need, in which attendees are invited to donate to a particular issue that the arts council is committed to.

This year’s Fund a Need was Studio C, a community art studio open to any artist locally to use at the Columbus Propeller Inc. MakerSpace, 4760 Ray Boll Boulevard.
