Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention is joining with communities around the world to observe International Overdose Awareness Day which is held every year on Aug. 31st.
This day is set aside as a day to remember those who have been lost, support those in recovery, and work towards preventing future tragedies.
ASAP actively works to create a better understanding of overdose, reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths and create change that reduces the harms associated with drug use.
As a part of awareness efforts, ASAP will be delivering Narcan to local businesses and organizations in Columbus on Wednesday.
Please call ASAP at 812-418-8705 to be included in distribution week efforts. Individuals are welcome to stop by the ASAP office at 1531 13th St., Suite 1102 to pick up a Narcan during regular office hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
