Crimson Pride goes 3-1 in tourney

TERRE HAUTE — IU Columbus volleyball went 3-1 Friday and Saturday in the Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Tournament.

On Friday, the Crimson Pride beat Boyce 25-13-20-25, 25-20, 16-25, 15-13. Addison Lemon recorded 18 assists and four aces, Cora Baker pounded 10 kills, Sadie Egan had three blocks and Alyvia Luce notched 12 digs.

IUC cmae back Friday with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-18 win against Goshen. Madison Hunter led the way with nine kills, four assists, one block and five aces. Luce tallied 10 digs and four assists, Egan added four assists, and Baker had one block.

On Saturday, the Crimson Pride beat Franklin 25-18, 21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-12. Hunter pounded 10 kills, Egan recorded 20 assists, Luce notched 16 digs, Adelynn Anderson served four aces and Abigail Watson, Kera Wischmeier and Leah Thompson all served one ace.

IUC fell to Governors State 25-15, 25-19, 25-22 to wrap up the tournament on Saturday. Baker recorded 13 kills and one block, Hunter had 11 digs and three aces and Lemon posted 15 assists.

The Crimson Pride (3-2) are off until Sept. 21 when they play their home opener against Midway (Ky.) at noon at Cerland.
