Dennis DeYoung, former Styx lead singer, sang to a smaller-than-normal crowd at the annual Our Hospice of South Central Indiana concert in a drizzling rain. DeYoung performed Styx hits including “Come Sail Away,” “Mr. Roboto” and “Show Me the Way.”

1999

The Indianapolis Museum of Art-Columbus Gallery celebrated its 25th anniversary with hands-on art for children at The Commons. Art projects children could participate in included “Kids Illustrated,” a collaborative mural at kidscommons and “Beautiful Buttons,” a junk-to-jewelry class.

1974

Dr. Wesley N. Haines, president of Franklin College, was the guest speaker at the 14th annual Bartholomew County new teachers dinner at Irwin Union Bank and Trust on Washington Street. The annual event welcomed new teachers to the community.
