North, East both go 1-3 in Bloomington South invite

BLOOMINGTON — Columbus North and Columbus East both went 1-3 with wins against East Central in Saturday’s Bloomington South Invitational.

The Bull Dogs fell to Jasper 24-26, 25-23, 15-13; Brownstown Central 25-19, 25-12 and Trinity Lutheran 25-19, 25-17 before beating East Central 28-26, 25-21.

Kennedy Horn and Karen Dutro each recorded 27 kills and eight blocks, and Horn also led North (3-9) with seven aces. Reese Edwards notched 35 assists.

Also for the Bull Dogs, Sydney Ousley pounded 19 kills, Lexi Denney added 26 assists and Morgan Osborn served five aces.

The Olympians fell to Bloomington South 25-17, 25-18 and Seymour 25-8, 25-15 before beating East Central 25-19, 26-24 and lost to Jasper 25-19, 25-18.

Krea Martin

Krea Martin led East (2-6) with 26 assists and four aces. Lilah Klei pounded 19 kills, Jillian Chapple recorded 26 assists, Anika Jenkins and Chandler Harris each had seven block assists and Addison Emery notched 35 digs.

Also for East, Kimberly Carothers tallied 14 kills, Chloe Gill contributed 31 digs and Emery served three aces.
