Asher Ratliff // Columbus North junior football player

Ratliff completed 11 of 17 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 135 yards and two scores to help lead the Bull Dogs to a 42-0 win against Columbus East.

His performance last week: “I started out slow with a couple of picks, but I really hit my stride and made some plays with my legs. Our receivers played great, our offensive line was great and our backs ran well. We played great as a unit.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I listen to music and just kind of lock in.”

Favorite drink: “Red Cream Soda”

Favorite food: “Chicken wings or brisket”

Favorite class: “Medical Interventions”

Favorite sports team: “Penn State and the Indianapolis Colts”

Favorite athlete: “Peyton Manning”

Role model: “Kendall Yeaton, my youth minster. The excitement and the happiness he brings to every day of life is something I aspire to do.”

Best advice: “Take everything with a grain of salt. Don’t take anything for granted. As a football player, you don’t get many moments like this, so take it all in because you only get four years of it, and it goes by really fast..”

Athletics goal: “To win state as a football team. Then with wresting, I want to win a state title for myself.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Greece, because of just how beautiful the landscape is and all the history that place has.”

Paige Terry // Columbus North senior soccer player

Paige Terry

Terry scored two goals in a 6-0 win against Columbus East and added another goal in Saturday’s 2-0 victory against Floyd Central.

Her performance last week: “I think it’s definitely gotten a lot better. I was off to a rough start. But I definitely got better throughout the week, and my team helped with that.”

Do you do anything special to prepare? “I just listen to some music on the way over here and usually eat a pregame snack or meal. I just listen to music in the locker room with my friends and just kind of get in the mindset.”

Favorite drink: “Diet Coke”

Favorite food: “Sweet tart ropes”

Favorite class: “Resource”

Favorite sports team: “I like Michigan, where (former Bull Dog) Jenna (Lang) goes. I keep up with her.”

Favorite athlete: “Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath”

Role model: “My mom (Kelly Bennett)”

Best advice: “Keep your head up, no matter what. There’s definitely going to be rough times, and all you have to do is go out on the field and play your game.’’

Athletics goal: “Just end my senior year with a great season.”

If you could travel anywhere: “Probably The Maldives because it’s so beautiful and looks like it’s a lot of fun, a lot of good places to explore.”
