Shoulder to Shoulder, an event to promote religious unity and respect for diversity, was held on the steps of Columbus City Hall. The event was organized by Interfaith Forum Columbus and featured remarks from several community members and a song.
1999
Columbus East won the East vs. North football game with a 21-10 victory over Columbus North. At halftime, Columbus East High School officials welcomed members of the Columbus East Olympians 1979 3A State Championship football team.
1974
The first “High School Beat” for the 1974-75 school year was published in The Republic, with news about area and Columbus high schools. Schools included were Brown County, Edinburgh Community, Hauser, Jennings County, South Decatur and Southwestern high schools.
