The Columbus Area Visitors Center on Tuesday announced the launch a free digital marketing education program aiming to help local businesses promote themselves and contribute to the success of Bartholomew County as a tourist destination.

The program, led by Michigan-based digital marketing agency TwoSix Digital, seeks to equip Columbus-area attractions, hotels, accommodations, restaurants and other local businesses with the latest marketing tactics through a series of online training opportunities.

TwoSix Digital is an agency specializing in destination marketing and tourism-related businesses. The first training opportunity is an online webinar scheduled for Sept. 16 titled “Must-Do Marketing Tactics for Small Businesses.”

“Local businesses are the heart of our community,” said Columbus Area Visitors Center Executive Director Misty Weisensteiner in a statement. “Their success directly impacts the vibrancy and appeal of our destination, and we think this is a great opportunity to support them.”

Participating businesses will receive training on the latest digital marketing trends, practical applications and hands-on tutorials that aim to help them attract more visitors and boost their business, officials said.

The Columbus Area Visitors Center said it will cover all training costs for local participants to ensure that “every local business has the opportunity to enhance their digital marketing skills and thrive in today’s competitive marketplace.”

“Our goal is to support our local businesses and help them succeed without adding financial burden,” Weisensteiner said. “By partnering with TwoSix Digital, we are providing our local partners with the expertise and resources they need to thrive, all at no cost to them, which in turn helps our entire community prosper.”
