2014

We Are City, an exhibition about art and city engagement, opened with a reception at the Indiana University Center for Art + Design on Jackson Street. The Indianapolis-based artist-in-residence program, also named We Are City, was the show’s focal point.

1999

The Ajvaz family, refugees from Bosnia, were resettled in Columbus by First United Methodist Church. The family had been on a waiting list for one year before they were contacted by First United Methodist officials.

1974

Columbus’ Nancy Patton, 16, was crowned Miss Indiana Teenager of 1974 in Indianapolis. Patton was also named Miss National Photogenic Teenager at the Miss National Teenager pageant in Atlanta, Ga.
