COLUMBUS
Annie Marie Kelp, 83, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed away and went home to be with her Maker at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at her home with her family by her side..
Annie was born in Jackson County, Indiana, October 4, 1940, the fifth child born to Cecil Alva and Jessie Pearl Wall Branaman. She was the wife of Jerry G. Kelp whom she married July 30, 1960; he survives.
A homemaker, Annie was a faithful member of Calvary Community Church of the Nazarene. She had a passion for caring for her family and she cherished every minute she shared with them. Some of her hobbies and special interests include crocheting, quilting, camping, fishing, cooking and baking.
Annie will be remembered by her husband of 64 years, Jerry; children, Brenda (Frank) Rodgers of Nashville, Randy (Penny) Kelp of Nashville and Mike (Christi) Kelp of Seymour; grandchildren, Amber (Joshia) Graham, Jerry Rodgers, Jamie (Ron) Mathis, Ashley (Ryan) Leis, Emily Kelp, Travis Kelp, Tray (Alexis) Yates and Shelbie Browning; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Bob) Godwin of Washington, Indiana; brothers, Bobby (Lucille) Branaman of Seymour and Dan (Carol) Branaman of Westport; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janet Mathis; and sisters, Ethel Roberts, Maxine Adair, Lois Smith and Alberta Branaman.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Calvary Community Church of the Nazarene, 5400 Rocky Ford Road, Columbus; Pastor Paul Blair will officiate. Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. The committal service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Duncan Cemetery in Brown County.
Memorial contributions in memory of Annie may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
