NASHVILLE — Brown County was competitive in the first set Thursday, but South Decatur cruised in the final two for a 25-18, 25-13, 25-9 volleyball victory.
Makayla Somers led the Cougars (9-2) with 23 assists and three blocks. Aniston Bostic pounded seven kills, Paige McQueen notched 12 digs and Zsophia Sharp added three aces.
Also for South Decatur, Sharp tallied six kills and three assists, and Taylor Somers added two blocks, seven digs and two aces. McQueen recorded six kills, Sharp had 10 digs and Elizabeth Bennett added seven digs and two aces.
Hailee Darnell recorded six kills and one ace, and Grace Johnson had nine assists and one ace to lead the Eagles (0-4). Aubree Denton notched eight digs.
Also for Brown County, Denton pounded two kills, and Zoe Jackson tallied seven digs and one assist. Johnson added five digs.
