COLUMBUS
Cindy Forrest Risser, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 6:28 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility at the age of 76.
Cindy was born in Columbus, May 6, 1948, the loving daughter of Robert and Muriel Francis Ruddick Imel. She married Larry J. Forrest February 5, 1966; he preceded her in death August 23, 1993. She later married Donald F. Risser December 23, 1994; he preceded her in death June 15, 2005.
Early in life, Cindy was employed at Arvin Industries 17th Street plant. She then obtained her LPN Certification and she had a long career as a licensed practical nurse in several agencies in the area.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Columbus. She had a passion for making things for her grandchildren to cherish and she also enjoyed painting ceramics and crocheting. Cindy always had a special place in her heart for her dogs.
Cindy will be remembered by her children, Michael Forrest of Columbus and Larrikay (Mike) Mahoney of Seymour; step-children, Duane (Karla) Risser of Columbus and Karen (Mike) Riley of Columbus; grandchildren, Bre (R.J.) White-Lambert, Matthew (Emily) Mahoney, Christian (Carrigan) Mahoney, Zachary Risser, Payton (Jacob) Roy, Elizabeth Riley, Luke Riley, Isaiah Riley, Elijah Riley and Noah Riley; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; and her brothers, Robert and Ralph Hoffman.
A private family graveside service will be held in Section 75 at the Garland Brook Cemetery; Pastor Tim Carter will officiate. Public visitation is not planned.
Memorial contributions in memory of Cindy may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
