Ernest Wayne Mote, 83, of Hope, Indiana passed away on September 5, 2024. He was born on June 12, 1941 in Greensburg, Indiana the son of Howard and Bessie Readnour Mote. Ernie was a 1959 graduate from Hauser High School. He married Sharon Moore on November 12, 1960 and together they had three children: Cathy, Shari and Scott. Ernie worked as a senior process engineer for Rockwell Automation, formerly Reliance Electric. He attended the Ridge. Ernie enjoyed bowling, camping, and entertaining the grandkids.
Survivors include: wife, Sharon Mote; children, Cathy (Danny R.) Johnson, Scott (Susan) Mote and Justin Mote; grandchildren, Brooke (Kevin) Henderson, Tanner Henderson, Derek (Megan) Johnson, Tyler (Danielle) Mote, Ryan (Mackenzie) Mote and Katie (Taylor) Wilkerson; and nine great grandchildren; siblings, Carol Tatman and Bob (Norma) Mote. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shari Mote; siblings, Don Mote, Ken Mote and Tom Mote.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Myers-Reed Chapel on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral at 11:00 am Burial will follow at the Lower Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
