South Decatur outlasts North Decatur in 5 sets

GREENSBURG — North Decatur battled back from a two-set defict to send it to a fifth set Tuesday, but South Decatur pulled out a 25-14, 28-26, 17-25, 22-25, 18-16 Mid-Hoosier Conference volleyball victory in the annual Civil War battle.

Zsophia Sharp led the Cougars (10-2, 2-0) with 11 kills, 30 digs and four aces. Makayla Somers recorded 33 assists, and Aniston Bostic had six blocks.

Also for South Decatur, Bostic pounded 12 kills; and Taylor Somers added nine kills, 16 digs and two aces. Makayla Somers had four blocks, 14 digs and three aces; and Paige McQueen notched 21 digs and two blocks.
