2014

Columbus held a remembrance ceremony at City Hall for the 2,977 victims of the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, the fist such local ceremony in three years. The ceremony included a moment of silence, and a rendition of “Amazing Grace” performed by Southern Indiana Pipes and Drums.

1999

Columbus Regional Hospital Auxiliary presented a check for $128,301.88 to CRH, which was used to buy a van with wheelchair conversion and cover the costs of visits to Volunteers in Medicine for one day a month for six months.

1974

John A. Cummins, Jr. of Scout Troop 551 was presented a Silver Palm award at First United Methodist Church, and became an assistant scoutmaster. Cummins was also an Eagle Scout and had earned merit badges for animal industry, hog production, farm arrangement and forage crops.
