Two arrested in Jackson County traffic stop on I-65

JACKSON COUNTY — Two Indianapolis residents were arrested Monday after a traffic stop on I-65 in Jackson County.

Indiana State Police said the incident began at about 2 p.m. when Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on a 2004 Dodge Ram truck on I-65 in the southbound lanes near the 40 mile marker for a traffic violation.

Miller determined the driver of the vehicle, Jason Riddle, 42, was wanted on a felony warrant out of Madison County and his passenger, Raymond Brown Jr., 57, was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of Johnson County.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers located suspected controlled substances, drug paraphernalia and a handgun.

The two men were arrested on the warrants as well as additional felony and misdemeanor charges including possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of legend drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of syringes and possession of other drug paraphernalia.

Both were incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail pending court appearances.
