Batesville shuts out East

Batesville won all five matches in straight sets Thursday in handling Columbus East a 5-0 boys tennis defeat.

Tyler Ernst fell to Caleb Mohr 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Owen Kirk lost to Jevan Smith 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Micah Wettschrack fell to Carson Meyer 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (3-9).

East’s Trevor Ernst and Michael Reed lost to Deev Ranka and Lincoln Garrett 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Jonas Newell and Carson Hartsook fell to Owen Westerfeld and Wes Peters 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.
