Lewis takes sprint car victory at Paragon

Ricky Lewis won the sprint car feature on Sept. 7 at Paragon Speedway. Korbyn Haslett was second, followed by Cody Trammell, Aiden Salisbury and Rylan Gray. Zach Sasser won the super stock feature over Josh Litton, Cale Kern, Tom Plotz and Randy Brawley. Ty Bland won the hornet division feature over Alex Wilson, Jeremy Wilson, Danny White Jr. and Brian Henderson Sr. Joey Paxson won the All-Star TQ Midget feature over Matthew Hedrick, Logan Prickett, Tony Paquette and Logan Rabourn.

Mihocko takes Bloomington finale

Tye Mihocko won the season-ending sprint car feature on Aug. 6 at Bloomington Speedway. Harley Burns was second, followed by Jack Hoyer, Joey Amantea and Brent Beauchamp. Tyler Loughmiller won the modified feature over Jacoby Hines, Austin Self, Dustin Bruce and Nathan Voorhies. Alex Wilson won the hornet feature over Jeremy Shemwell, Kevin Umphress, Ethan Reed and Paul Arthur. Ryan Woods won the crown vic feature over Matthew Weston, Brandon Lange, Ray Weston and Rodney Porter.

O’Neal wins two preliminary races at Eldora

Hudson O’Neal of Hope won two preliminary feature races leading up to the 54th Annual World 100 at Tony Stewart’s Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.

O’Neal won a 25-lap $12,000 to win feature race on Sept. 5 and 6 and finished 11th in the World 100 on Sept. 7.

Bobby Pierce won the $57,000-to-win World 100 with Dale McDowell, Jonathan Davenport, Tim McCreadie and Devin Moran completing the top five.

Also winning races at Eldora last week were Davenport, who won the Castrol FLO Racing Night in America race on Sept. 4 worth $20,000 to win. Joining O’Neal as preliminary night winners on Sept. 5 and 6 were Ryan Gustin and Davenport.

Before the Sept. 7 activities, track owner Tony Stewart announced that the attendance for the World 100 was the largest in the track’s history. The track opened in 1954, and Stewart has owned the facility since 2004.

From 50 years ago this weekend at Brownstown, Gerald Dixon won the late model feature over Bob Fleetwood and Russ Petro.

From 1974 at Twin Cities, Johnny Robbins won the feature race over Jon Peddie, Denny Long, Larry Exner and Alan Scott.

Also from 50 years ago this weekend at 25th Street Fairgrounds Speedway in Columbus, Jeff Burton won the hobby stock feature over Z.B. Martin, Bob Olmsted, Jack Smith and J.R. Money. Pam Shafer won the powder puff race.

From 40 years ago in 1984 at Lawrenceburg, Danny Milburn won the USAC sprint car feature over Jack Hewitt, Chuck Amati, David Smith and Brad Marvel.

From 1984 at Eldora, Jeff Purvis won the World 100 followed by Kenny Brightbill, Bob Pierce, Jerry Inmon and Pat Patrick.

From 30 years ago in 1994 at Bloomington, Gary Wright won the All-Star Circuit of Champions sprint car feature over Randy Kinser, Bobby Davis Jr., Danny Smith and Kevin Huntley. Scott Patman won the street stock feature over Denny Campbell, Greg Kendall, Jerry Hepworth and Steve Hostetler.

From 1994 at Union County Speedway in Liberty, Daryl Herbert won the late model feature over Lee Fleetwood and Mike Jewell. Randy Petro won the street stock feature and David Mills won the modified feature.

From 30 years ago at Eldora, Billy Moyer won the World 100 followed by Davey Johnson, Scott Bloomquist, Freddy Smith and Kevin Weaver.

From 20 years ago in 2004 at Brownstown, Steve Barnett won the late model feature over Dan Sturgeon, Mark Barber, Dion Deason and Doug Ault. Randy Petro won the super stock feature over Mike Cawood, Kevin Applegate, Gary Trammell and Jay Miller. Bub Walters won the bomber feature over Clifton Barron, Matt Cummings, Steven Godsey and Jason Combs.

Also from 2004 at Eldora, Chub Frank won the World 100 over Don O’Neal, Brian Birkhofer, Dan Schlieper and Jimmy Mars.

From 20 years ago at Lawrenceburg, A.J. Anderson won the sprint car feature over Brandon Petty, Kent Christian, Shane Hollingsworth. Jerry Back won the pro stock feature over Ronnie Helton, Steve Gaines, Tony Anderson and Shane McHenry.
