BCSC return to school this morning runs smoothly

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police say there have been no incidents with Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.’s return to school this morning.

An increased police presence was planned at all BCSC schools today after a Snapchat school shooting threat was reported Friday against Parkside School. Columbus Police Department was assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police.

Sgt. Skylar Berry, Columbus Police Department spokesman, said police had received some calls from parents with questions, but there were no issues this morning.

Columbus police said an 11-year-old female was taken into custody and placed in the Youth Services Center Sunday on a felony charge of intimidation and a misdemeanor charge of false informing in regard to the Parkside threat, which was made on Friday.
