Sherry shook hands with and/or saw five U.S. presidents, four first ladies, and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, as well as dozens of other celebrities from the political, entertainment, and literary fields. She became friends with Julie Eisenhower (daughter of President Nixon) and visited her and husband David (grandson of President Eisenhower) at their home in Pennsylvania.

Sherry loved to travel and made many trips. Some of her favorites were Alaska, Hawaii, Utah, California, Boston, Austria and London.

Survivors include her brother, Anthony “Tony” Grimes (Nancy) of Columbus; nieces, Angie Grimes (Barry), Melissa McKenzie (Scott), Natalie Mann (Justin), Danielle Tedder (Anthony) all of Columbus, and Nicola Gehring (Christian) of Germany; nephew, Brent Grimes of Germany; and 16 great-nieces and great-nephews.
