NORTH VERNON
Anthony Ray “Tony” Taylor, 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 12:39 a.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Majestic Care of North Vernon.
Born March 17, 1960, in Greensburg, he was the son of Richard Taylor and Ruby (Beall) Taylor. He married Sandy Lovegrove on December 22, 1999, at the Nebraska Church of God in Nebraska; she survives.
Tony worked for Morgan Landscaping in North Vernon for three years, Garlitch Ford in North Vernon for ten years, and was a self-employed carpet installer for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going to the Smokey Mountains, hiking and nature. Tony loved spending time with his family and attending sporting events with them.
Surviving with his wife, Sandy; are his sons, Shawn Taylor of Westport, Kyle (Adrian) Taylor of Scipio, and Thomas (Bailee) Taylor of North Vernon; grandchildren, David Dixon and Nathan Dixon of Butlerville, Kiara Morrow of Osgood, Stella Taylor, Brock Taylor and Emilee Taylor, all of Scipio and Isla Taylor of North Vernon; and a niece, Tara (Aaron) Dixon of Butlerville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Greg and Kenny Taylor.
A funeral service for Tony will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. The visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Tony through the funeral home to Our Hospice of Jennings County.
