Children 14 and younger need to be accompanied by a guardian due to sensitive topics covered such as war, sexuality, racism and violence.

CSA is a project-based learning school, focusing on authentic, community-based learning experiences which are applied to real-life scenarios. The CSA juniors last year, the current senior class of 2025, studied movements that influenced our nation in their U.S. History class and created a documentary that highlights how these periods impacted our country and Columbus.

They identified current agents of change in our community and interviewed them for the film. The film features leaders in our city including, Steve Forgy, Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient, the Rev. Felipe Martinez, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, honored by the Humans Rights Commission this year and Paulette Roberts, the Republic’s 2024 Woman of the Year.

There are 10 segments in the film created by 50 students, paired with 10 agents of change. The current publications classes at CSA have been applying their learning by creating marketing materials and communicating with relevant parties to make the event successful. There will be a panel discussion after the film.

Andrew Larson and his new company, Andy Larson, CENTURY 21 Breeden Realtor will be the marquee sponsor of the event. He is a former New Tech science teacher and author of the book, “Life is a Project, the 6 A’s of Project-Based Learning.”

Businesses interested in sponsoring the event may donate on the tickets page, and their business will be featured before and after the event during the panel discussion.

The Crump Theater was chosen to receive the proceeds due to the number of youth events it has hosted and its assistance with senior projects.

“This (project) taught us how to conduct ourselves respectfully and professionally around people from different backgrounds and situations that we may not be familiar with,” said Austin Morrison, CSA senior. “We had many workshops on how to professionally interview an individual with a sensitive background to make them feel comfortable and respected. This project made me feel much more confident when approaching these delicate situations that we have on a day-to-day basis. It helped me understand to approach someone civilly and be respectful of their beliefs and ideas.”

Senior and CSA yearbook editor, Kylie Boles said, “The documentary itself is important because it will teach people about the historical events that went on in our country while displaying how hard these students worked to put this together.”
