Bartholomew County

Reading with Friends — 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. This book group is designed for readers and non-readers. Participants can enjoy stories and be guided through discussion and activities related to the reading.

Preschool STEAM — 11 to 11:30 a.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Celebrate the start of Fall. We will plant mums in the garden, talk about the parts of plants, and marvel at our pumpkin patch. This is a drop-in program, stay as long or as little as you’d like.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) 1444 — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Mill Race Center, 900 Lindsey St., Columbus. Weigh-in at 11:30 a.m., meeting from noon to 1 p.m. Must be a member of Mill Race Center. Call Karen Burbrink at 812-371-9616.

Teen Watch-It Wednesday — 3:30 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with this month’s selection of film and television. Sept. 25’s movie is “In the Heights.”

Sing & Play with Allie Jean — 4 to 4:30 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Little ones ages 2 to 8 are invited to Sing & Play with Allie Jean.

Humans Rights Commission — 4:30 p.m., City Hall, 123 Washington St., Columbus.

Kids’ Ukulele Class — 4:35 to 5 p.m., Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus. Kids in grades K-6 are invited to learn how to play the ukulele with Allie Jean. We will have some ukuleles available to borrow, but if you have your own, please bring it. Registration is requested. No experience necessary.
