Margaret Broderick

Margaret King Broderick, former resident of Columbus IN, died unexpectedly on 9/8/2024 in Tucson, AZ at the age of 75. Known as Meg to her family and friends, she was born on 12/25/1948 in Fort Wayne, IN, the third daughter of John Broderick and Rita Keegan Broderick.

Following graduation from Columbus High School and Indiana University, she spent many years in New York City as a Paralegal. She also started a firm, Independent Medical Examination, which audited medical claims for the Insurance Industry.

Meg was a reader and a writer, a talented amateur photographer who loved music. She volunteered at area Nursing Homes where her card playing skill and quirky sense of humor endeared her to residents. Her interest in genealogy led her to explore her family’s roots. She attended St. Cyril of Alexandria.

She is survived by sisters: Liza Matucan, Joan Conatser, Darlene Stillinger, and Jill Barland. And will be remembered by nieces and nephews: Aaron Broderick, Tony and David Behrman, Leslie Hitchman, Katie Mark, Sarah Stillinger-Karr, Brian Conatser, Amy Conatser, and Elaine and Claire Matucan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rita Hallum and Sheila Behrman.

Meg’s life was a testament to her vibrant sprit and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A memorial Mass at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Columbus, IN will be said on 11/05/2024 at 5:30pm.
