Larry Ray Treadway

Larry Ray Treadway, 77, of Scipio, passed away at 10:27 p.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at his residence.

Born August 1, 1947, in Middletown, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Eugenia (Bailey) Treadway. He married Linda Hulse on March 1, 2003, in North Vernon; she survives.

Larry was a 1967 graduate of Vevay High School and attended Versailles Vocational School for his carpentry apprenticeship. He worked for Treadway Construction for four years and was a Union Carpenter for 36 years, retiring in 2005. Larry was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Cub Master for Troop #536 in North Vernon for 27 years.

Surviving with his wife, Linda, are his children, Lance (Erin) Treadway, and Jillana (Justin) Hall, both of North Vernon, Jennifer (Ty Howell) Treadway of Fishers, and N.E. Douglas, Arionnah Clark, Braelyn Clark, Cindy Ashpaugh, Sharon (Rodney) Hubbard, Karon (Sam) Whicker, and Tracy Clark, all of North Vernon; brother, Harold (Sandy) Treadway of Versailles; sister, Alyce McCormick of Owenton, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Kincaid of Vevay and Sue Treadway of Bath; grandchildren, Hank Treadway, Kate Treadway, Charlie Treadway, Matthew Hall, Emma Hall, Kayla (Aaron) Carr, Matthew Ashpaugh, Aaron (Marly) Blevins, Jarod Whicker, Samanatha Whicker, Damon (Bridget) Clark, and Jessica Clark, all of North Vernon, Jacob Howell, Jack Howell, and Carmen Howell, all of Fishers, and Adam (Cheyenne) Blevins of Brownstown; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Donald Treadway and Charles Kincaid; and his sister, Anna Peters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church in North Vernon with Rev. Terry Brammer and Deacon Larry French officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be at the church on Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in Vernon Cemetery in Vernon. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Larry for the First United Methodist Church or Troop 536 Cub Scouts.
