Nearly 175 men marched three city blocks from the corner of Washington and Fifth streets to Columbus City Hall as part of the Men Take a Stand Against Domestic Violence event. The event symbolized the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

1999

Parkside Elementary School’s new principal, Jane Boultinghouse, wore a pirate costume and waved the Jolly Roger flag on her first day of school. Boultinghouse was welcomed by cheers and waves from teachers and students.

1974

Columbus native Herb Wright was the writer and producer of “Locusts,” a 90-minute movie. The movie was televised locally on ABC as the “Wednesday Movie of the Week.”
