Lancers break scoring drought, but fall to Thunderbirds

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh didn’t get into the win column on Friday night, but it did make some forward progress, getting on the scoreboard for the first time since Week 1 in a 25-6 home loss to North Central (Farmersburg).

The lone touchdown for the Lancers (0-7) came on a 34-yard run by senior Jayden Elliott.

Quarterback Caleb Murphy, returning after a few weeks out due to injury, completed 12 of 20 passes for 84 yards. Samson Parkhurst had six catches for 44 yards, while freshman Landon Clouse rushed for 61 yards on 21 carries.

“It’s positive stuff for us,” said Edinburgh coach Tyler DeSpain, who noted that several players were coming back off of injury and are still ramping back up to game speed.
