2014

The third annual Cheer Fund Challenge began and ended at Fire Station No. 2 on Arnold Street, where firemen Eric Darlage and Chris Owens ran and walked a 5K in full firefighting gear. The event helped generate funds for the Firemen’s Cheer Fund.

1999

Tools for Workplace Excellence was the first class offered in a collaboration between Ivy Tech State College in Columbus, IUPU Columbus and Purdue University School of Technology. Thirteen employees from Hartup Tool in Columbus received certificates from the course.

1974

Fifteen Columbus East High School juniors enrolled in advanced algebra attended the Fall High School Mathematics Day at Indiana University in Bloomington. The day included a mathematical game demonstration, a geometry lecture and a tour of the Wrubel Computer Center.
