COLUMBUS
Linda J. Adams, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 4:37 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024, at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 83.
Linda was born in Columbus, August 7, 1941, the loving daughter of Homer C. and Lucy Mildred Fuel Newland. Linda was the wife of Leland Lance Adams, to whom she was faithfully married to for 34 years, from August 9, 1978 until his death May 30, 2013.
Linda graduated from Columbus High School. Linda had an entrepreneurial spirit and was the owner of L. Adams Incorporated for many years. Linda was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church in Columbus and she enjoyed membership at the Columbus Moose Lodge No. 398. A sports enthusiast, Linda cherished spending time with her grandsons and attending their sporting events. Linda also had a passion for traveling.
Linda is survived by her children, Jeffrey Harris of Columbus and Kelly (George) Boots of Greenwood; grandsons, Ethan Boots and Kyle Boots of Greenwood, Sean Harris of Tennessee and Evan Harris of Columbus;
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lucy Mildred Newland; husband, Leland Lance Adams; and her sister, Jeanette Stratton.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street; Pastor Marvin Brown will officiate.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Linda will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Garden of Faith at the Garland Brook Cemetery. In memory of Linda, memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Blood Center.
