Columbus native Philip Dodge’s business, Great American Mint and Refinery Inc. in Anaheim, California, was featured on the H2 Channel on national television. Dodge previously delivered papers for The Republic when he was 14 years old.

A steady shower dampened attendance for the Ethnic Expo Parade, but many spectators still lined the streets to watch. Among the cars and floats in the parade was Shelly Baker of Columbus, who drove her car that was covered in over 50,000 buttons.
